Disney games make great Christmas gifts

Are you looking for child-friendly games for Christmas?

My children have the XBox and a Wii but I find it appalling how many games on sale glorify extreme violence or bad driving.

I was, therefore, delighted to receive 2 games from Disney that focus on the type of images I would prefer young children to have in their heads.

The first game Disney Princess: My Fairytale Adventure – a new interactive journey that was bound to appeal to my 8 year old daughter who is fairies and princesses obsessed. All too often, she can’t find games that appeal to her but this one proved a real hit.

In the game, players find that a spell that has been cast over the beloved Princess worlds and will need to use their magic wand to help Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle and Tiana restore peace and bring “happily ever after” back to each kingdom.

It’s available for the Wii system from Nintendo, Nintendo 3DS hand-held system and also Windows PC/Mac.

“At last I have something I like instead of all that boys’ rubbish” said my daughter.

She played happily and only left the game when her brothers begged her to try out the other game.

This was Toy Story Mania! which came out in November.

The game joins all of the classic Toy Story characters as Woody, Buzz and others stage their own zany, fun-filled carnival. Toy Story Mania! allows players to participate in familiar, and all-new carnival-inspired shooting galleries, and win prizes in mini-games.

Toy Story Mania! is available for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. All of my children aged 12, 8 and 7 loved this one and even Dad joined in happily.
