Have you ever felt one or more of the following …
1. You lack time to do your own thing
2. You have forgotten what you like
3. You can’t quite remember who you are
4. You feel frumpy, fat and/or old
5. You feel you never put yourself first
6. Your energy and joie de vivre has gone
7. You are not sure what the future holds
8. You feel powerless
9. You feel isolated
10. You sense something is missing
I felt most of these things when I established the #groovingmums blog hop and Twitter support group.
I was amazed that by sharing my feelings, I seemed to help others on their own individual journeys towards a more positive future.
What are the guidelines for taking part?
If you are a blogger, you write a blog post about how you are making tiny or huge changes towards a new you. This might be as simple as going for a walk or as radical as setting up a new business. It might mean talking to someone new or buying a treat just for you. It can be anything that makes sense to you as you try to get your va-va voom back or perhaps to discover it for the first time.
I then promote your blog post on here and on Twitter, Facebook and so on.
The benefits of taking part are ..
1. It does seem that those who join in with #groovingmums do see themselves taking a proactive approach to improving their lives.
2. The blog hop includes me setting optional challenges which can act as prompts as you move forwards. You don’t have to do them, they are just ideas. You are on your own journey.
3. When you are struggling emotionally or practically and we all do, you find you are supported by a lovely group of mums making their own moves towards le groove.
4. By seeing other mums’ inspirational stories, you start to believe you can make progress with your own goals.
5. You get free blog promotion and will, hopefully, see your statistics increasing as a result if that is important to you.
The Rather Wonderful Bits Of This Blog Hop
1. You don’t have to take part at all or every week. You get involved to the extent that you wish.
2. All the challenges are optional so you are always in charge. The challenges cover body, mind, spirit and blogging.
3. You might find rather amazing things happening for you such as losing weight, changing your look, getting involved in new activities, helping good causes and loads more. Take a look at some of the blogs that take part. Usually I promote them on Mondays and then on Tuesdays write about how I am getting on and list the challenges.
4. I will not be round to beat you with a big stick for not doing it right. This blog hop is all about encouraging mums to make changes that make sense to them as individual women in their own right.
5. If you email me on kateonthinice@gmail.com , I am always quick to respond to any questions, concerns or complaints.
Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s get grooving!
If you want to find us on Twitter, just follow @groovymums where we welcome all mums whether they blog or not.
Packing cases then blogging, but first wine

Hi Kate, you’ve two hashtags in the piece above #groovingmums then #groovymums. Don’t know if we’re still using the original one or not?
What a fab idea! Is it okay to edit old posts to include your blog hop thingy? I’ve started a detox diet and am trying to start 2013 in a positive way – a new me.
